Illustration is the area that I enjoy the most and get to do the least! I put just as much strategic and conceptual thought into my illustration work, along with a lot of personal style.
Currently I create most of my illustrations digitally, but I also enjoy using collage, pen and ink, and anything else that fits the piece.
I am currently in the process of updating this page so larger images may not be available at this time.
Special Event Pieces: Domestic Diva Bridal Shower
These three pieces were created for a recent bridal shower, the theme being Domestic Diva. Images of a retro 50s diva were used in each piece along with kitschy illustrations of entertaining, serving and just day to day diva-ing. The first piece was a two-sided postcard to invitees to save the date. The second was a bi-fold invitation that was mailed in an envelope. The final piece is a multi-page recipe card book featuring recipes that attendees have contributed, bound with a ring and embellished with a measuring teaspoon.
All of the artwork was created digitally in Adobe Illustrator, and printed four-color offset.
Gigposter: We Talked About Murder
For this poster I used the concept of a girl hitchhiking to the mythical place called Beerland shown as speakers rising beside the glowing sun, which was the venue for the show, and she is picked up by the band's tour truck. This poster was a departure from my more flat works and really stands out on a crowded wall.
This was created digitally in Adobe Illustrator.

Gigposter: Laura Graf
Laura needed a poster for her upcoming solo shows and since dates were ever-changing, I created a poster for her that expresses her personality and what her music is about, and allows her to just write in the date and venue of the show as needed.
Digital Illustration in Adobe Illustrator.
Mailer: Oak Sanderson
This promo postcard was created for a self-promotional campaign for Oak Sanderson. The concept behind the chili pepper image is that the best direct marketing is found in Texas, at Oak Sanderson. This was a multi-part campaign, the first two being the best live music is found in Texas and the second, the best Tex-Mex comes from Texas. After receiving this piece, salsa was delivered personally to the meeting with the client in California.
Digital Illustration in Adobe Illustrator, digitally printed.
Ink and Gouache: Mirror, Mirror
This illustration was originally
done as a demonstration of the gouache wash off technique but turned
out so well, it became a valuable portfolio piece. Colorized with
watercolors, this piece is a vibrant Picasso-esque illustration
that could be used as a poster or as an editorial.
Editorial Mixed-Media Collage: The Ferocious Two Headed
Bat Dog
This illustrated circus poster
combines magazine cutouts, paint, and photocopy techniques to show
a sense of humor and of course the extreme ferociousness of the
two headed bat dog.
Editorial Collage: The Illustrated Cat
This collage illustration
was done as a cover for the Illustrated Cat magazine. Tiger printed
paper, foil, magazine cutouts, and paint give this piece depth and
texture which add to its visual interest.
Breath
This pen and ink illustration
is one in a series of querky drawings combined with poetry that
are used to show a different illustration style.
